Pink salmon fishing is available late July to September and is a great fish to fulfill your limit. Pink salmon usually return mid summer in the millions and bring their appetite with them. This species can be great for breaking in the young angler and average 4-10 lbs. As fall approaches the local pinks turn to the beaches staging to go up the rivers. This can be a great opportunity for anglers to try their luck with cast or fly fishing.
Chum salmon fishing is available mid August to October. This species averages 6-20 lbs and is a great fish to end the season. Chum are best known for canning and smoking.
Ling cod fishing is available April to September. This species averages 8-25 lbs and provides a hard fight while jigging on bottom. Ling Cod are a crowd favorite for fish and chips.
Chinook salmon fishing is available year round with peak season beginning May 15th to September 15th. This main target species can range from 10 lbs to over 40 lbs with lots of action on the rod.
Coho salmon fishing is available July to October with peak season in the mid summer. This species packs a fun hard fight, is known for its acrobatics, and averages 4-10 lbs. As fall approaches the local Coho turn to the beaches staging to go up the rivers. This can be a great opportunity for anglers to cast or fly fish.
Sockeye salmon is not one of our main target species but can be fished between July and August (subject to DFO).
Not always a target species but may be caught when jigging. An excellent way for young anglers to get introduced to fishing.
One of the most tastiest and sought out crustaceans in the West Coast. The Dungeness Crab can be caught close to the harbor and traps can be set and checked on arrival.
Not a target species in the gulf but from April-July you may have the chance of hooking one by trolling or bottom fishing.
These species are all categorized as rock fish and are a lot of fun to catch. Anglers must be quick at the reel keeping these hard fighting, hard biting fish clear from reefs.
Pacific Grey Cod is a common by-catch while salmon fishing and a great way to fill the freezer. This species is a white meat excellent for fish and chips.
